Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5:50 p.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 43, four miles north of Liberal in Barton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The driver involved, Ryan K. Carroll, 22, of Lee’s Summit, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the state patrol said. His passenger, Kyle M. Smith, 22, of Leawood, Kan., was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center.
Their northbound pickup truck slid off the ice-covered road and overturned, throwing them both from the vehicle, the patrol said.
