Three motorists hurt in accidents on roads in area

A Cassville man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 11:30 p.m. Sunday on Barry County Road 2070, five miles northwest of Purdy, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Jesus Rodriguez, 19, driver of a pickup, was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital Cassville.

The patrol said the eastbound pickup ran off the road and overturned.

• An Erie, Kan., man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 4:05 p.m. Saturday on Kansas Highway 47, three-quarters of a mile west of U.S. Highway 69 in Crawford County, according to the county Sheriff’s Department.

Richard Roles, 49, was taken by helicopter to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

Authorities said the westbound motorcycle went beyond “road closed” signs and through barricades in a construction zone, and struck a parked vehicle.

• A Frontenac, Kan., teenager was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 12:59 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 69, near the intersection of 600 Avenue in Crawford County, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Jessica Pingree, 16, driver of the vehicle, was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan.

Deputies said Pingree attempted to change lanes in her northbound vehicle to avoid striking another vehicle that had turned in front of her.

The vehicle ran off the road and rolled several times before coming to rest on its side.
