Fire damages Webb City home

WEBB CITY, Mo. — A fire Sunday morning caused extensive damage to a mobile home on the southeast side of Webb City.

The Webb City Fire Department responded at 11:11 a.m. to a report of a fire at the residence of Maria Ramirez in the Country Acres Mobile Home Park.

Battalion Chief Jackie Clark said firefighters found light smoke coming from the back of the home, with the fire located in a back bedroom. The occupants had made their way out without injury, he said.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes, Clark said. The blaze was traced to a short circuit in an electrical panel, he said. The Southwest Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting occupants of the home.
