Suspects jailed after arrests in wake of burglary

COLUMBUS, Kan. — Two suspects in the burglary Friday of a residence southwest of Columbus remained jailed Monday in Columbus.

Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies stopped Michael Campbell, 22, and Nicole Dickerson, 41, a few miles away in alleged possession of property believed to have been taken in the burglary, including copper wiring, tractor parts, a propane tank and tools.

Campbell and Dickerson, both of Columbus, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft.

Charges of obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia also were being sought on Campbell, officials said.

A Cherokee County judge ordered Dickerson held on a $10,000 bond and Campbell on a $25,000 bond pending court appearances.
