Deputies find deceased man and woman

ASBURY, Mo. — Jasper County sheriff’s deputies are looking into the deaths of a man and woman inside a residence north of Asbury.

Sheriff Randee Kaiser said the bodies were discovered about 9:15 a.m. today inside a residence at 18022 County Road 290.

“A deputy was flagged down by an individual in Asbury who was concerned because he hadn’t seen these (people) for a while,” Kaiser said.

He said deputies went to the address and discovered the bodies. The house was secured at that point until a search warrant could be obtained. Armed with the warrant, investigators re-entered the home and began processing the scene about 2:30 p.m., he said.

The sheriff said the names of the deceased are being withheld pending positive identification of the bodies and notification of all family members.

Kaiser said there were no obvious signs of foul play at the address. The sheriff said he doubted there would be additional information released about the investigation until sometime Wednesday.
