Lone gunman robs Dillons in Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, Kan. — A lone gunman robbed the Dillons Food Store in Pittsburg at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday and ran with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Pittsburg police.

Officers who were called to the grocery store at 2600 N. Broadway were told that a man entered the store wearing a black bandanna across his face and displaying a handgun. He demanded money from a store register, police said. He ran in a northerly direction.

The robber was described as being about 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 160 to 180 pounds, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored jeans and white tennis shoes.

No shots were fired in the robbery, and no injuries were reported.

Police said they are asking anyone with information about the crime to call them at 620-231-1700, or Heartland Crime Stoppers at 417-782-TIPZ.
