NEVADA, Mo. — A fire that burned the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole office in Nevada remains under investigation.
The Nevada Fire Department responded at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday to 303 S. Prewitt St. and found fire shooting out of the west end of the state office building.
Fire Capt. Kevin Scott said the blaze caused heavy damage to that end of the office, and heat and smoke damage throughout the remainder of the building before it could be brought under control and extinguished. No injuries were reported, he said.
Investigators with the state Division of Fire Safety and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are looking into the cause of the fire.
