Fire kills child in Oklahoma house near Grand Lake

EUCHA, Okla. — Authorities said a fire at a home near Grand Lake killed a 3-year-old boy.

Lakemont Shores firefighters early Wednesday found the structure in flames when they arrived.

Officials said the boy’s mother helped her 4-year-old son escape through a window and then climbed out. She tried to go back and retrieve her other son, but the flames and smoke prevented her from re-entering the home. The identities of those involved were not released.
