Three motorists hurt in accidents on roads in area


A Mount Vernon resident was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Farm Road 1182, about 10 miles northeast of Cassville in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Lauren A. Dale, 18, was taken to St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield following the accident, the state patrol said.

Dale was driving a southbound car that ran off the road, struck a tree and vaulted over a creek, landing on its top, the patrol said.

• A Joplin man was injured about 3 p.m. Friday in a motorcycle accident on McClelland Park Boulevard, about a tenth of a mile west of Joplin, according to the state patrol..

Dale D. Stiver, 46, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

The patrol said he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve, and it ran off the road and struck a fence post.

• A Neosho man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:40 a.m. Friday on Missouri Highway 86, one mile west of Neosho in Newton County, the state patrol said.

Brandon W. Lantz, 28, was taken by ambulance to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, the patrol said.

Lantz was driving an eastbound car that ran off the road and overturned when he fell asleep, the patrol said.
