Two motorists hurt in accidents on roads in area

A Washburn man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday on Missouri Highway 37, two miles south of Cassville in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Patrick L. Cypret, 19, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville, the state patrol said.

Cypret was driving a southbound car that ran into a southbound car driven by Shannon P. Ball, 52, of Washburn, when Ball stopped in traffic to make a left turn, the patrol said.

• A 41-year-old man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:18 p.m. Monday at 32nd Street and Schifferdecker Avenue, according to a Joplin Police Department report.

Nathan Walker, of Miami, Okla., was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, police said.

Walker was a passenger in a westbound pickup truck driven by John Harris, 18, of Baxter Springs, Kan., that collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Cortney J. Mayberry, 26, of Joplin, as Harris was making a left turn, the report said.
