Drug charges filed against two defendants

A 35-year-old man is facing two felony drug counts after marijuana, morphine sulfate and methamphetamine allegedly were discovered in his possession while he was being booked into the Joplin City Jail on a charge of driving while his license was revoked.

Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said Aaron A. Garcia, 7820 W. Emerald Lane, was being booked into the jail Wednesday morning when the drugs were found in his possession.

In a separate felony drug arrest, Rolon A. McAdams, 35, of Kansas City, was charged with possession of cocaine after a traffic stop at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday near 20th Street and Grand Avenue.

Niess said McAdams was stopped for an equipment violation and was discovered to have a large amount of cash in his possession.

A drug-sniffing dog alerted on his vehicle, and cocaine was found on the driver’s seat, Niess said.
