Two arrested in case involving stolen pickup truck

GALENA, Kan. — Two suspects in possession of a pickup truck that was stolen in Missouri were arrested early Monday near Galena.

The Cherokee County sheriff’s office said James D. Hignite, 54, and Miles Mittage, 34, both of Galena, were arrested in alleged possession of a 2014 GMC Sierra that was reported stolen Sunday in Neosho.

OnStar Services workers notified the sheriff’s office about 1 a.m. Monday that they had a GPS location of the truck near Galena. OnStar activated a feature that made the truck’s horn honk and lights flash, and officers stopped the vehicle just outside the city limits.
