Police are looking into a reported posting of nude pictures of a 16-year-old Joplin girl on Facebook.
Joplin police Cpl. Chuck Niess said information about the pictures was first reported to police in Pittsburg, Kan. The girl informed Joplin police about the matter after learning from Pittsburg police that the pictures had been posted on Facebook.
The girl told police that she sent the photos to her boyfriend by cellphone never intending for them to end up on the Internet, according to Niess. The case is being investigated as a possible violation of child pornography laws by whoever posted them on Facebook, he said.
