Drug raid results in arrest of two, custody for baby


SCAMMON, Kan. — A Scammon couple were in jail over the weekend on drug charges after a raid by authorities at their home.

Phillip Michael Clark II, 43, and Deb Hibdon, 25, were arrested in a raid Thursday that turned up a meth-making operation at their home.

Officers with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department and the Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force made the arrests on allegations of manufacturing methamphetamine in addition to other criminal action.

A 7-month-old child was also taken into police protective custody.

The couple also was charged with possession of precursor chemicals with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Friday, bond was set at $100,000 each.
