Three men tell police of assaults; no arrests as yet

Three assaults reported over the weekend in Joplin remained under investigation by police on Monday without any arrests having been made.

Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said Michale J. Boucher, 35, reported that he was attacked about 1:45 a.m. Saturday by a man he confronted inside his home in the 400 block of West Third Street. Boucher told police that he tried to make the man leave his house and was assaulted. The man fled the area.

An assault early Sunday morning at a dance club resulted in Hassan Majrashi, 29, being taken to a hospital by ambulance for stitches, Niess said. Majrashi told police that he was struck on the head with a bottle while dancing at a club in the 1200 block of South Wall Avenue.

Bryan K. Moss, 26, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin after an assault early Sunday morning at a party in the 1500 block of East Kent Drive. Niess said Moss told police that he was knocked unconscious by a man who was arguing with a friend of his. The punch broke his jaw and knocked out some of his teeth, police said.
