NEOSHO, Mo. — Dale W. Martin, 21, of Neosho, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing related to a break-in Tuesday at Northside Baptist Church, 705 N. High St.
Neosho police reported that several chain saws and pole saws were taken in the burglary.
Police responded to a pawnshop when an employee reported that Martin was trying to pawn the items. Two chain saws stolen from the church were recovered at the pawnshop. Martin was arrested after attempting to run from police.
Police served a search warrant at Martin’s home, where three more chain saws stolen from the church were recovered. As the investigation continued, two more chain saws and one pole saw were recovered.
The church uses the chain saws for disaster recovery projects, according to police.
Martin was being held at the Newton County Jail. His bond is set at $5,000.
