Joplin chamber seeks business nominations

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2014 Small Business of the Year award through Feb. 14. The awards recognize the contributions of small businesses to the local economy and to the overall progress of the Joplin area.

Awards will be presented to three businesses: one business employing 1-10 employees, one business employing 11-50 employees and one not-for-profit business. Finalists will be chosen based on contributions to the community, business or management philosophy, response to challenges, innovative products or services and employee involvement/recognition.

Nominees must be in good standing with the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce and must have been a member of the chamber for two years.
