KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Joplin Globe was named the 2009 David R. Bradley Member of the Year Sunday, honoring the paper’s contributions to The Associated Press cooperative in Missouri and Kansas.
The paper was honored for its consistent and frequent cooperation with AP, including its efforts to provide news tips and photos for sharing with other member newspapers.
Past winners have included The Washington Missourian, The Arkansas City (Kan.) Traveler, The Kansas City Star and The Hutchinson (Kan.) News.
Globe editor Carol Stark picked up the award Sunday at AP’s annual Missouri-Kansas membership meeting in Kansas City.
