ST. LOUIS —
For the first time this year, gasoline prices have dipped below $3 per gallon at some stations in the St. Louis area.
The price for a gallon of regular unleaded was down to $2.99 at many locations on Wednesday. The average price of a gallon of gas in St. Louis was last below $3 in December. AAA Missouri says the average price in St. Louis isn’t there yet — the average on Wednesday was $3.05.
Mike Right of AAA told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the price is dropping because of strong Midwestern supplies and lower demand.
