Dollar Tree expanding Marietta distribution center

MARIETTA, Okla. — Dollar Tree is planning a $25 million expansion of a distribution center in Marietta and will add 100 jobs.

The discount retailer announced Thursday that the center would expand by 400,000 square feet and that work is to begin in February.

The Oklahoman reports that the plant will attract workers from nearby communities, such as Ardmore and Gainesville, Texas.

The expansion will give the center 1 million square feet. Dollar Tree uses the center to distribute goods to stores in 11 states.

Marietta is situated along the north-south Interstate 35, between Dallas and Oklahoma City.

Dollar Tree operates more than 4,600 stores in the U.S. and Canada, including 52 in Oklahoma.
