Marjorie E. Kropp

QUAPAW, Okla. — Marjorie Ellen "Sue" Kropp passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father surrounded by her family on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the Higher Caller Nursing Center in Quapaw, Okla. She was 88 years old.

Sue was born Aug. 26, 1925, in the Eastside community to Thomas A. and Florence E. (Longan) Captain. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1943. She married Roland Q. Kropp on June 15, 1943. They were married for 49 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, John, Thurman, Leo, Charlie, George "Buck" and Dennis "Sandy" Captain; sisters, Thelma Sullivan and Virginia Hart; and granddaughter, Katie Kropp.

Sue was a homemaker, farmer's wife, member of the Promenade Extension Homemaker's Club, Grand Lake Good Sams, Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, Spring River Indian Baptist Church and an active member of the First Baptist Church of  Quapaw.

Survivors include son, Terry Kropp and wife, Grace; and son,Larry Kropp and wife, Debbie, all of Quapaw;grandchildren, Marilyn Kropp of Quapaw, Chad Kropp and wife, Mary, of Claremore, Okla., David Kropp, of Tulsa, Okla., Jennifer Smith and husband, Brian, of Baxter Springs, Kan. and Robyn Priest and husband, Mark, of Miami, Okla.; 11 great-grandchildren, Jarrett Shapp, Ashlyn Parmley, Wendell Foster, Sydney Smith, McKabe Foster, Emma Smith, Brady Kropp, Drew Hendrix, Nick Smith, Hannah Kropp and Tatem Harvey.

Pallbearers will be Chad Kropp, David Kropp, Brady Kropp, Clay Imbeau, Darrell  Sullivan, and Jarrett Shapp.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Quapaw First Baptist Church. Pastor Geoff Buffalo will officiate. Interment will be at the Newman Cemetery east of Quapaw. Indian rights will be administered by Russ Garber. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Quapaw in care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami in lieu of flowers.
