Vernon Lee "Vernie" Ayers, 84, a retired Southwestern Bell Telephone Company employee, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ulmer Funereal Home, Carthage.
