CARL JUNCTION, MO —
Norma Jean McBee, age 86, of Carl Junction, Mo., passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at a local nursing home after an illness.
She was born June 20, 1926, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late I.D. Newton and Lorene Lykins Newton and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
Norma Jean married Bill H. McBee May 20, 1944, in Columbus, Kan. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1992.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin. She had previously been a member of the Smithfield Christian Church.
Norma Jean is survived by two daughters, Carole Repplinger and her husband, Ron, of Carl Junction, and Suzanne Riekofski and her husband, Danny, of San Manuel, Ariz.; a brother, James Newton and his wife, Margie, of Joplin; four grandchildren, Jason Riekofski and his wife, Crystal, Lyndsay Cruce and her husband, Joshua, Ron Repplinger Jr. and his wife, Julie and Laura Parrot and her husband, Mike; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services for Norma Jean will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Mech officiating. Burial will follow in the Carl Junction Cemetery with Jason Reikofski, Jared Repplinger, Mike Parrot, Ron Repplinger Jr., Nicholas Newton and Tim Newton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary and request that memorial contributions be made to the Carl Junction Cemetery in care of the mortuary.
