Voices: Does God control weather?

I’ve often wondered, why does bad weather hit some areas and not others? Does God control the weather?
The Bible says that God will rain upon the just and the unjust. People could be praying for the storm to pass by in one area, yet others could be praying also in areas that are hard hit. God can let bad weather hit one area yet keep it from hitting another area. For example, the storms we had on May 10.
People in Joplin might have been praying that the storms miss them, and they did. But what if people were praying in the areas that were hit? God can allow things to happen, yet he doesn’t control the weather all the time. He lets Mother Nature be herself. I guess what I am saying is that no matter what the situation is, we need to be ready! No one is perfect, but the Bible says everyone needs to strive to be like Christ. We all have faults. But we have repentance. Yet we cannot go out repetitively and commit the same sin. Forgiveness is ours if we ask for it. The Bible says knock and the door will be opened unto you, seek and ye shall find, ask and it will be given unto you. No matter what, Christians should always be looking forward to the coming of Christ!
I would be interested in hearing from readers and know their opinion on whether they think God controls the weather. Thank you and God bless all of you.
