Published May 14, 2008 08:27 pm - It is a happy coincidence at this point in time that the City of Refuge for the homeless at last has a good building that will be safe, conform to all city codes, and at the same time has the best mayor to bring all concerned people together and make it happen. It is a happy coincidence at this point in time that the City of Refuge for the homeless at last has a good building that will be safe, conform to all city codes, and at the same time has the best mayor to bring all concerned people together and make it happen.
I’ve never met Gary Shaw, but I knew his mother, Thora, a wonderful woman who ministered to people in jail and cut their hair. It takes a thick-skinned individual to run for the council because you become a target for everyone. It’s quite fitting that the new home for the homeless will be a former church, accessible and easy to find. I know it can’t be proven, but I believe that our creator uses certain people to attain his goals just the same as Satan uses other people to attain his goals. The Lord moves in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform. “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of them, my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” So I’m expecting our mayor, Gary Shaw, to follow in the footsteps of a 10th century Danish king named Harald Bluetooth, who became adept at getting diverse, antagonistic parties to negotiate with each other for the common good. The inventors of that electronic contraption you see clamped to people’s ears thought the name Bluetooth appropriate for it. It easily brings communication to people and without attached wires. Good news for you who fought against it so hard. You’ll have a shelter, now, should you ever fall on hard times, yourself. Candy Gagle, and all the others, your prayers were answered.
