Voices: Exciting times

I have read several articles about the “tea parties.” I think what they are doing is exciting. May there be a lot more across the country that continue to work for the constitutional rights to make this United States better for all of us.

I am 83 years old and don’t understand all of this “stuff” we have had to listen to so far this year. What I do understand, I don’t like — regarding all this unemployment and raising taxes so it will make things much harder for the elderly. Plus the medical insurance for us, as well as for families with children and plus many more.

The Bible tells us it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven. This isn’t aimed at all the rich people in our country because I know there are a lot of them that help people here and in other countries.

I appreciated Gilbert Millner’s letter “Going to bat” in the Globe. While the “tea parties” and others are doing their part, we also have the American Guild of Town Criers. The article about them was in the little magazine American Profile.

May our good Lord bless each one and every organization that are working to bring better times to our United States.
