When have you last been on a Sunday drive?
I belong to a motorcycle group that rides in the Four States. We were planning next year’s rides when we realized there are fewer places to ride, not because there are fewer places, but because now you need a gas mask.
Our best riding was done in the Ozark mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Now we have to detour around chicken plants and hog farms. The worst part is, they keep building them, and we lose more of our countryside.
Our state government says they bring in jobs, but they import illegal workers. They say they bring money to the area — that is after they get a tax break to build these farms and the workers send their paychecks back to their home countries.
Did you know that it’s cheaper to send money to Mexico than to Springfield?
I sure do miss my Sunday rides.
