Your View: Bought and paid for

DIAMOND, Mo. — The opinion expressed by The Joplin Globe on June 7 regarding Wisconsin’s Scott Walker left out some very important information.

Wisconsin unions had already agreed to the financial cutbacks to help the budget. Walker was all about eliminating collective bargaining except for the two unions that had supported him.

That election was bought with millions of dollars from outside Wisconsin pushing falsehoods thanks to Citizens United.

Walker and his administration continue to be under investigation.

The saddest part of this story is that collective bargaining was first achieved in Wisconsin, and people died toward that end.

The June 8 opinion page “cartoon” picturing the burial of unions hit the mark and is too sad.
