You asked for comments concerning capital punishment, and for the most part that’s probably what you will get.
If you really want the truth, society was not the original author on this subject, God was. But in today’s rule, He doesn’t exist in the matter, sadly to say.
Just for an example, in Leviticus 20:7, He calls for a “Command for Holiness.” Gee, that’s sure out of vogue.
Leviticus 20:9, “Death for parental disrespect.” That’s too harsh! Leviticus 20:10, “Death for adultery.” Too much intrusion! Leviticus 20:11, “Death for incest.” Too radical. Leviticus 20:13, “Death for homosexuality.” Against our civil rights!
Before all of you want to do away with the Old Testament because “we have the New Testament,” listen to my Savior in Matthew 5:17 as He specifically says, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.” Verse 18: “For verily I say into you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
Now since society has disregarded the Bible, none of the above means much; except for God.
And as surely as the sun comes up in the east and goes down in the west, He is literally in charge; whether we “recognize” Him or not.
