Your View: Trust McCaskill

WEBB CITY, Mo. — As someone who works and pays taxes, I am against wasteful government spending.

Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican candidate running for U.S. Senate, says he is for cutting back on government spending, but he has been voting for earmarks for years.

Sen. Claire McCaskill is against earmarks, and she is one of only two senators to not request earmarks. Three years ago, she even introduced legislation to make it easier to take earmarks off of bills.

Sen. McCaskill represents Missouri’s values, and she’ll stand up against corruption in government. We know this from her record. Will Todd Akin?

We need someone dependable in Washington, and Claire McCaskill is the Missouri senator I trust.
