NEOSHO, Mo. — I recently sent the following letter to U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo. I wish to share it with the readers of The Joplin Globe:

Dear Sen. McCaskill,

Please stop Harry Reid’s plot to change the Senate rules and end the long-standing right for every member to have their say on legislation — and filibuster, if necessary.

Reid is breaking the very rules that have guided the Senate in order to change this rule — and that is illegal and ethically wrong.

Reid’s scheme must be thwarted — and that is why I am asking you to vote against his proposed plan. I will be watching how you vote on this issue.
