Your View: Joplin’s other ‘green space’

JOPLIN, Mo. — Up until now, I’ve thought that for the most part Joplin “powers that be” were doing a very good job.

Now they are talking about turning part of East 20th Street into a “green space.” We have a street like that — 13th Street west from Byers to Maiden Lane.

It is just brown barren ground with nice-looking street lights. It gathers trash and little else.

Why not see how they can enhance the appearance of that before they worry about snarling crosstown traffic by reducing the flow by half.
