Michael Beatty: Globe needs readers’ input for new market survey

The Joplin Globe is conducting a readership study to better understand how you read our products and how you shop.

This is particularly important in the wake of the May 22, 2011, tornado. Some readers have moved to new locations or built new homes. The landscape of our market has changed since the tornado. We would like you to tell us how you read us and what you read.

We also would like for you to tell us about your shopping habits and the products you plan to buy over the next 12 months. This information will help us do a better job in news coverage and will also help our business partners advertise the products that you want the most.

I invite all of you to take the 30 to 40 minutes to fill out our survey. As an incentive, you will be part of a drawing to win $1,000 in cash, $500 in gift certificates from Pearl Brothers and Slumberland, and a $250 gift certificate from Green Yates as well as a chance for 26 free lunches or dinners from our various advertisers. This is your chance to tell us what you like, what you want more of and how and where you shop.

All of the information is kept confidential as it’s gathered and is done so by one of the most reputable research companies in the United States. We do not have access to who has participated in the survey, only the results.

I want all of you to know how much I appreciate the fact you have chosen the Globe, joplinglobe.com and our various other products as your No. 1 source of news and information.

I can’t wait to hear more about what you think as a result of our survey.

To participate please go to www.pulseresearch.com/joplinglobe. This is an online-only survey.

Michael Beatty is the publisher of The Joplin Globe.
