Voices: Voodoo economics

If Obama wants to stimulate the economy and create jobs, he should abandon this silly spending freeze and actually make some orders from companies.

Companies need clients, need demand, in order to hire. Apparently voodoo economics has so infected the country that even Democrats think it will work.

Also, I'm amused by the GOP calling for tax cuts because they worked for Jack Kennedy. Yeah, Kennedy cut top marginal tax rates all the way down to 75 percent. (After that, the economy, which had been booming for 12 years, actually began to cool off.) Since that rate is under 40 percent now, I suggest we need an increase. We might get the government out of debt too.

Always remember, the Great Depression was ended by the “wartime economy” with massive government spending, massive mobilization of workers, and the bonds and tax hikes to fund it. Reaganomics simply doesn't have that kind of record of success.
