Your View: Note of thanks

Special to The Globe

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Dorothea B. Hoover American Association of University Women Scholarship Foundation held a successful holiday auction. The foundation’s board of directors wishes to thank all the persons who came to bid, buy and have fun.

We wish to recognize especially certain persons: Delbert Johnson, auctioneer, who encouraged everyone to bid; Sue Balcom, who made the hors d’oeuvres; and Jamie Martin, who helped set up the fellowship room at First Presbyterian Church. We also wish to thank the merchants who donated items and gift certificates.

The holiday auction proceeds ensure that the Dorothea B. Hoover Scholarship Foundation will continue to award a scholarship at Missouri Southern State University. This year the scholarship is for $3,500. Again, we wish to thank all who support the Hoover Foundation.
