NEOSHO, Mo. —
I am writing to ask Empire District Electric users to join me in urging Empire to work harder to increase its energy efficiency.
This would use less coal, making for a cleaner natural environment while saving its customers money. Furthermore, increasing energy efficiency is less expensive than using more fuels.
I have dedicated myself to increasing my homes’ energy efficiency. When I lived on Brownell in Joplin, I purchased a full-house humidifier that makes the air feel warmer in winter, and replaced my older windows with double-ply windows. Until the tornado, that meant greater energy efficiency.
I am doing the same with my home in Neosho, which I am convinced will make my energy use more efficient and save me money at the same time.
Let’s keep after Empire in this matter until we get some action.
