JOPLIN, Mo. —
It reads like a Lifetime movie: the story of Monica Webb, of Joplin, begging for her life before being shot in the head three times.
Her estranged husband, Rondias Webb, who has been charged in connection with her death, should not have even been there. He should have been in jail.
Apparently, on Nov. 4, he violated a protection order against him by approaching her in a local bar. The summons to serve on him does not require an arrest; it can be mailed.
But, according to Newton County court records, an arrest warrant was issued for him Nov. 7 after he failed to appear in court on a prior domestic assault charge. I’m pretty sure an arrest warrant requires an arrest. It seems that this murder should have been avoided. I can’t be the only person thinking that, can I?
