JOPLIN, Mo. —
I do not understand the anti-government sentiment of the past decade. Countries where there is no government are called “failed states,” and they are too dangerous for anyone to try to live in.
Expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act is not an example of the tyranny of big government. It is simply a way of having the cost of health care and preventive services moved from hospital emergency room budgets and middle class medical insurance premiums and spread more widely among the population.
I intend to join the Missouri Hospital Association and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry in asking my state representative and state senator to vote to get Missouri’s share of federal health care money.
