Your View: No excuse

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Regarding the April 22 Supreme Court editorial, its emphasis is insignificant. “Favorability” is meaningless.

The Court was constitutionally established, by our extremely wise Founding Fathers, to make final legal decisions. Otherwise confusion and chaos would exist.

Lest anyone fails to comprehend, the United States Constitution is the “supreme law of the land,” and it provides a “supreme” court for making the final decision relating to every issue that reaches its level.

Therefore, as I once heard a professor of ethics at Washburn University School of Law proclaim, “the Constitution means whatever the Supreme Court says it means.”

The United States is a nation of law. Anarchy is unconstitutional and ignorance of the law is often obvious, but not an excuse.
