JOPLIN, Mo. —
The article “Hard Decisions” (Globe, June 22) ended with a quote from Bev Crespino Graham lamenting the funding cuts for child care, “It’s a sad day for Missouri.”
To express my opinion, I will borrow a few words from our president. “It’s the right thing to do,” and I applaud the Missouri legislators in making the hard decision.
Really, does it seem that unreasonable for one to pay for their own child care? If they can’t get a job that pays enough to send themselves to college, get two jobs and put off having children until you get your education. Please don’t expect me to help you with your poor decision.
The socialist vote seeker it seems do their best to keep light from coming into the world, while true leaders lead all people back to personal responsibility.
I am tired of social ideologies being shored up with economics, education and the media to promote political philosophies that are willing to take money from anyone (through taxation) to achieve their goal to function as one’s own ultimate source of moral and spiritual authority through pursuit of personal self development with my money.
Maybe it’s not as simple as sending them back home with a note pinned on their shirt that says, “Here, they’re your kids, Mom, Dad, grandparents ... you take care of them. Sorry, but the state is broke!” Some people do need help, and let’s help them. But if you can read this letter and whine about it, you’re probably a person that has the ability to help yourself.
