Voices: Deserving respect

The homeless deserve our respect and support. Let us create a facility around the mall. This would allow all area communities to see that we want to help our homeless as well as show how socially progressive Joplin is.

There is a good chance they could get employment as needed. It’s a booming area, you know! They could cook our burgers, wrap our gifts and even assist with swiping our credit cards. Each mall employer could even allow a donation jar to help the homeless raise funds for their favorite homeless shelter. This would be a much more positive environment than downtown, which is still struggling to revitalize. Finally, thanks to the Baptist Church and other Christians helping those in need. Christ be with you.
