JOPLIN, Mo. —
This letter is in reference to city-honored efforts to get children outdoors.
I am a great-grandmother; I have three grandchildren. I was able to walk to Parr Hill Park. We loved being by the pond, the swings and slides. My grandchildren were just learning to play basketball, even though the nets were removed.
This summer we could not go to the park. It was a very sad time for us. We used to take picnics and played on the little bridge, even caught little fish.
Now we have no park. I wish we could get the park taken care of. Then people could enjoy the outdoors free at the park and walk to outdoor activities.
