Your View: Saying farewell

CARTHAGE, Mo. — In 1992, in a city in Mexico I met my future husband. He was an American working in Mexico. We communicated two years before we married in 1994. He was my first boyfriend and later became my husband.

In my first year of marriage I came with him to a beautiful city in Missouri. I found joy in meeting people with such humanitarian desires. I enjoyed the changing of the seasons — autumn was favored the most. My home was my haven. My marriage continued happily. It appeared that it would last until death do us part.

But that was not to be. My friends helped me, picked up the shattered pieces while I waited on the divorce to be finalized.

I am now divorced and ready to start a new chapter in my life. I will leave this lovely town of Joplin, where my heart will forever remain. But before I go, I want to thank all the lovely people that God placed in my life during this difficult time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God bless you all.

Farewell, until we meet again, beautiful Joplin and Carthage.

Maria Pruitt
