Your View: Bite the bullet

JOPLIN, Mo. — The City of Joplin employees say their wages are lower than other cities around the nation. They haven’t had a raise since November 2010. Well, too bad.

I haven’t had a raise since 2008. No one where I work has received an annual or merit raise in years. They want to receive the same pay as city employees in Kansas City or St. Louis? Then let them also receive the higher cost of living that goes along with the higher rate of pay.

Why should I pay for your raise when I’m not getting one? Bite the bullet people, just like everyone else has to do. Learn to live on what you make and be thankful you have a job.
