Voices: Smell the dog doodle

It’s been said that “knowledge is power.” No, wisdom is power. Knowledge is merely collected datum. An adage to illustrate: Getting hit over the head with a two-by-four and knowing it hurts is knowledge. Seeing someone else get hit over the head and knowing it hurts is wisdom.

But, we are far removed from such fine distinction. To be politically correct, we the taxpayer, the voter, are cerebrally challenged. In the vernacular, “dog doodle dumb.”

Is democracy nothing more than the voter choosing from a list of preselected individuals to represent the rich? In the case of health care reform, how many times do both congressional party representatives have to hit the voter over the head only to be re-elected again and again?

The taxpayer, the voter, seems to never realize what’s going on. And voter, it’s “your” two-by-four. In the movie, Forrest Gump proclaimed: “Stupid is as stupid does.” Voter, it’s time to wake up and smell the dog doodle.
