In most venues set for news — newspapers, television, radio, magazines, etc. — the people of our country read/see/hear displeasure numerous times. I want The Joplin Globe to know how refreshing it is to find a human-interest story on its front page.
On March 12, the article “A new canvas,” by Andra Bryan Stefanoni, was very newsworthy by allowing a local muralist, Gary Lofts, recognition for his gift of 14 murals to the Girard Medical Center.
Several other front-page stories in past days were written about opening day of trout season at Roaring River, an event enticing many to line the banks; a family’s German shepherd rescuing a toddler on a bitter cold morning; and St. John’s Wall of Hope giving hope to those with loved ones in intensive care.
May I say thank you for publishing “real” stories worthy of your front page.
