Your View: Note of appreciation

JOPLIN, Mo. — We would like to publicly express our sincerest gratitude to the management and employees of Joplin’s United Parcel Service branch.

They have made it possible for our daughter-in-law, Pat Butler, to be at the hospital bedside of her son (our grandson) over two months during two of the most delicate and rare open-chest surgeries on his 22-year-old heart. These operations took place at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin and Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. They saved his life, and she was allowed to retain her employment.

We will not go into detail, but simply express great appreciation and thanks beyond words to UPS, Freeman and Barnes.

Paul and Gale Butler
