Your View: Too late now

JOPLIN, Mo. — I take exception to your “Our View” editorial (Globe, June 18) regarding Missouri Southern State University, particularly the statement concerning the anonymous critics who should step out of the shadows or slink away.

I, for one, am grateful to these people, many of whom risked their livelihood (some did lose their jobs) in an effort to inform the public about the issues facing Missouri Southern. The Globe is just as responsible for what has occurred at MSSU as anyone else. The Globe failed in its journalistic responsibility to inform the public.

The Globe went “slinking away” long ago, and it’s a little late now to take the self-righteous high road. Perhaps if the Globe and other media outlets had pursued the truth, Missouri Southern’s issues would have been addressed long ago, as they should have been.
