Voices: MSSU faculty

Boohoo, boohoo! The teachers at Crybaby U. have lost much of their taxpayer-paid summer vacations. No more Caribbean soirees, no more European grand tours. If they can’t think without real French baguettes, then I guess they’ll have to pay their own way.

Of course, if they don’t like the atmosphere at the school, they can leave. Go where they’ll be treated in the manner they think they deserve. Thousands of Americans leave their jobs every day to seek out greener pastures.

But if they can’t find academic paradise, here’s some advice: Man-up. The world is not fair or pain-free, and world-class sniveling won’t make it so.

As my retired high school graduate neighbors said, “They’ve got a lot of growing-up to do out there.” No Ph.D, but a lot of down-to-earth Missouri truth there.
