Water company cites reconnections

The May 22 tornado has caused a dramatic drop in water usage for the Missouri American Water Co., but things are starting to turn around — one reconnection at a time.

The Missouri Department of Transportation obtained some rights of way for a four-lane highway south from Fidelity.

The sharp engineers who did this must have been booted out, for when it came time to build it they contended another, longer route was cheaper, because they could use some old highway. They didn’t use any.

Now followers of U.S. Highway 71 have about an extra 20 miles than the direct route. To me the people who now follow 71 should be given eggs (some rotten) to throw at the decision-makers of this as they are held in stocks.
